The MSMEs featured here have successfully graduated from the prestigious Bengal Business Accelerator Program (BBAP) 2025—a flagship initiative jointly spearheaded by the Department of MSME and Textiles, Government of West Bengal, and the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. This program is designed to identify and nurture high-potential MSMEs and startups across West Bengal through a rigorous, structured acceleration journey.
Each applicant undergoes a thorough, merit-based evaluation, with only those enterprises demonstrating strong scalability and investment readiness advancing to the next phase. Selected participants then engage in an intensive three-month acceleration program hosted at IIM Calcutta’s state-of-the-art facilities. The program culminates in a high-profile Demo Day, where entrepreneurs showcase their ventures, pitch to prospective investors, and network with key stakeholders from the dynamic startup ecosystem.
The Selection and Evaluation Process
BBAP employs a comprehensive two-step selection process to ensure that only the most promising MSMEs and startups are chosen for acceleration:Stage 1: Eligibility check and Initial ScreeningAll applicants are rigorously assessed against clear eligibility criteria. This initial screening evaluates innovation, market potential, team competence, business model robustness, and overall impact—filtering for enterprises ready to excel.Stage 2: Expert Panel EvaluationShortlisted ventures face evaluation by a distinguished panel comprising industry leaders, seasoned investors, and ecosystem partners. This stage delves deeper into parameters such as innovation, scalability, sustainable revenue models, leadership quality, and social impact, selecting those best poised for growth and investment.
